the devil in him got stronger, remember he was a bit mercyfull at the beggining but since he was revived, he is ruthless. it's his devil side that got stronger... i think....

Isn't it because Devil is now part of him rather than a separate entity like in Tekken 2?

Because Kazuya now has a Devil form. He can now control his Devil Form.
