Super Smash Bros.
Yeah, as a PlayStation and a Nintendo gamer, who likes to especially play fighting games, I just had to create this topic.
For those who have no clue about Super Smash Bros., let me give a quick overall from the series.
Super Smash Bros. is more different fighting game from other "usual fighting games".
While you don't win when your opponent doesn't have any health left, you try to send your opponent off the screen and off the bounds for knock outs. The more damage your opponent has, the easier he/she will fly off the screen. However, there is a chance for a rescue after sent off the solid ground. A player can use his/her aerial jump and do his/her Up Special move to gain some vertical distance.
The controls are pretty simple, one button for normal attacks, one button for special attacks, shoulder buttons for shield, direction pads for taunts, another shoulder button for grab, and jumps. Normal attacks(which are small combos or endless attacks) can be turned into Smash attacks and strong attacks(tilts) by just moving or tapping the control stick in desired direction.
Super Smash Bros.(N64 one) has only three special moves, but rest of the games have four. Up: These moves usually make you go high. Neutral: These moves usually are chargeable moves for later use or projectiles. Side: These moves usually are moves you go in your direction or at least face in. Down: More unusual moves like reflectors are for this direction.
The characters? You're beloved Nintendo characters, Mario, Link and Pikachu are well known worldwide for example. There are known and more less-known characters in the series. The first title in the series, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 has spawned two sequels, Super Smash Bros.Melee for Nintendo GameCube, and Super Smash Bros.Brawl for Nintendo Wii. Super Smash Bros.Brawl is the only game to have 3rd party characters, who are Solid Snake from Metal Gear-series and Sonic The Hedgehog himself(Mario vs Sonic, anyone?).
The game can be absolute fun, as four players can fight against or with each other at the same time while variety of Nintendo(and original) items pop out for carnage.
Most of the stages gives gimmicks, but there are a few neutral ones too.
For more information about Super Smash Brothers in general, go to Smash Bros. Dojo, which is an official website/database for Super Smash Bros.Brawl. It should give a good view from the series.
So... talk about this series(or in games particularly) to your hearts content. You can also ask questions.
And yeah, I have all three Super Smash Bros. games.
