Your Thoughts?

With a supposed Tekken movie being made, what are your thoughts? Do you think it will be one of the best video game adaptations ever so far? Or will it just fall flat and give the series a bad reputation?
My personal opinion is that they MIGHT do well, as they have not really hyped this up as much as Dragonball Evolution (I have yet to see this but my friends say it is terrible).
I only hope that the result of this film will not affect Tekken 6's sales if it turns out just as bad and I can only hope they picked the right actors for the roles. Especially for Jin and Kazuya (Jun is apparently going to be in it too), if they mess them up, I will not be pleased >.>

I see what you mean. Most of the movies based on fighting games failed.
For example DOA or Dragonball, they both were bad movies.
The cast of Tekken movie looks promising, but after seeing some screens like Kazuya with beard, it might be a disappointment...

Kazuya with a beard? ... I just can't imagine it O.o;
I've seen a couple of pictures with Jin in them, I think they may have got him just right maybe, I suppose they could fix the hair a tiny bit. But oh well, beggers can't be choosers lol

I hope so that it won't be like the Dragonball movie or other fighting game adaptation. They could make a fantastic film with all of these awesome characters and their life

i cant wait for the movie. im fearfull that it will be a flop. so far the only fighting game movie ive seen that was true to the characters and game itself was D.O.A
i hope that the movie will be good and that the characters will resemble the game characters.
casting is great so far. they have lateef crowder as eddy
the school girl from kill bill as ling xioayu
i hope they give kelly overtone a tan as she plays christie

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is a perfect example how a movie based on a game series should be done. Voice actors that they've voice acted recently... Cloud's voice in KH2 is present in FF7: AC for example.

Ha, since you haven't seen Dragonball Evolution, go watch it. It wasn't bad... that's an understatement. It was so terrible it was laughable. I had to go back to see it a second time because the first, my friends and I got kicked out of the theater for making comments about it and we just wanted to see the ending xD Hell, people came up to us after the movie to tell us that our comments were the redeeming factor. It just goes to show how horrible it was, because we're pretty ridonkulous rather than what one may call 'funny'. Something to check out if you feel like laughing where, I promise, you will piss yourself.
But on the Tekken subject, I'm not quite sure how it's going to do. I've got mixed feelings. Like, when I heard about the animated film, there were so many negative comments, and when I saw it, it wasn't half bad. It wasn't the greatest thing since Holy Taco (yes, that is a real thing. Not a lame attempt at comedy. It's pretty great, too.), but it didn't deserve the negative criticism it got, I felt. Deff could have been better, but at the end, I wasn't left feeling utter disappointment and like I'd just wasted a chunk of my life. So if it's anything like that, and with them having come out with newer technology, it could be pretty good. However, it is a live action movie, so I'm a bit worried.
I don't think they chose a good cast, personally, which is making me fear for the Tekken franchise. A movie could be used as a promotional tool for the series, and if it fails because of bad acting, well the sales for the new games won't sky rocket as many expect they will. The movie could fail of it's own accord though, rather than the acting. If any information has been released beyond the summary and actors of the movie, I've had no knowledge of it, but if they show any Devil transformations and what not, I have a bad feeling about how they'll make it look.
But that's just me. Who knows how it'll turn out?

They had BETTER use a lot more characters than they are saying or else it's gonna suck however even if it flopped I'd watch it ^^
