PSP Impressions
The psp verison is pretty impressive.Everything that made the console versions good is included in the psp version + more. . .So you wont be dissapointed,I have too say that the graphics have been improved from DR,Each character seems too have a shine on them.Lars and alisa have there own story,so none of that complicated scenario campaign mode crap. lol
I give the psp version a 9.3/10
8ing/Raizing did a good job. . .
One more thing, there are framerate drops.During Intros and Outros the game runs at 30fps.During actual fights the game runs at a smooth 60fps. . .Thats because the psp's hardware has limitations. If you have DR you should of taken notice of the framerate drops.Im still wondering why 8ing/Raizing didn't include replays in the psp version,Oh well it doesnt bug me,though.

Re: PSP Impressions
Good to hear the PSP version does fine job.
Hmm? During Intros and Outros the game runs at 30 fps? It shouldn't be a big deal... I guess.iceyou88 wrote:

Re: PSP Impressions
After my new PSP's battery ran out of battery, it was when I realised I should post my impressions/thoughts on this PSP -port.
Loading times:
I don't have a Memory Stick Duo for my PSP yet, but the loading times weren't really annoying in a way. They seemed to be decent. But I still don't get it why the "Get Ready For The Next Battle!" -sentence gets echoed badly.
Lack of game modes:
Alright, after 2 hours of playing I noticed there was no longer Team Battle mode, which WAS included in Dark Resurrection's PSP port. Also the "Quick Versus" that allowed you to pick a character for you and your opponent is absent. With Gold Rush being the only PSP-exclusive mode really, thoughts ran left and right.
"What were they thinking?"
"I think that's alright."
Not even the Tekken Bowl made in. But Story Battle... Basically the same as it is in the console port... I can go through this.
The Arcade Battle is just as awesome and classic as ever. I got Nancy-MI847J defeated... again.
Customize:
Yes, the customisation was toned down a lot. At first when I got some Riding Pants for Jin, I thought "is this the only damn colour I can get for these pants?" But the colours were seemed to be hiding at the Costume Color -section.
Pick any pants or jackets or any item similiar to those and go play around with the costume color options. You'll eventually see your particular customisation changed it's colour.
I thought this to be a bit complicated at first after being used to the console port's customise screens where you could buy the same pants in any color... Now that I really think about it... damn, that's expensive stuff for just one pants in various colors. The PSP port lets you go with the price of one only, so chill out, just go for some Gold Rush and you have modifiable pants.
Anything else?
I got this game as a UMD disc, which means I got the 6.10. firmware update right off the bat. This was good as I don't have a Memory Stick Duo at the moment(usually new firmware updates are downloaded from the net and so on).
This is, in the end better than nothing. Even though the PSP port lacks something, you can still play it on the go, making it a very useful tool for training. So what if you can't choose your side, thus are forced to be on P1 side? If you have this game on home consoles as well, just play on P2 side and you get to train both sides somewhat equally. =D
I must say I really like this game now, especially when I have a chance to play it anywhere i want. Have a PSP? Get this game. Don't start comparing this port to the home console one - At least the PSP port manages to bring all the robust action to smaller screen, anywhere you want. And that is worth of 40 euros(which is probably about 45 bucks or so...?).
