Sorry, I haven't played an RPG on NES. I would probably try Final Fantasies.
Re: A Nintendo Thread
I have memories with Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. My super nintendo controllers stopped working, so now all I have is the console and some games. I've never had a Nintendo, but I luckily there are emulators and roms!
I also have a nintendo 64, but because of a great site I found, I play all n64 and snes games on the computer, since I'm bored of all the games I have.
This is a great site and has almost any nintendo, super nintendo, sega, nintendo 64 you could ever want, and even older games consoles like Atari and Commodore. But first you must download the emulator. Anybody else use these?

Favorite game on the Wii is Super Smash Brothers Brawl. But that's really all I've ever played.

Re: A Nintendo Thread
From what I'm heard, emulators are illegal if used for piracy, like if you don't have [insert a console here] but you have an emulator of it. I have an N64 emulator, yet I have never had one. But!Shooshkabob wrote:

I have Wii and some N64(as well as SNES and NES) games downloaded for it. Does that count legal if I have those downloaded for Wii and computer with the emulator?
But then again, the old consoles are not being manufactured anymore, so it's not like Nintendo/Sega/any other old console manufacturer lose money. Who knows, people might buy a Wii and download some retro games for it for better controllers.
Wii is a retro gamer's dream. All the Virtual Console really needs anymore is Super Mario Kart for Super Nintendo in my opinion. The original Super Smash Bros. really nailed it as I had played it on the emulator for a good while.
I already have a bunch of old Sonic games thanks to Sonic Mega Collection Plus I have for PS2. I'd rather see some Sega Dreamcast titles on Wii. Sonic Adventure 2. =D Oh wait a minute...
Crap! I forgot Sega had started to produce their old console again bundled with some games!Muggshotter wrote:

They also re-released their Sega Game Gear or whatever their handheld is. It has Sonic & Knuckles in it as far as I know. I still pick my Sonic Mega Collection Plus for my PS2 if I want some "old school Sonic cool".
Mmm! One of those "over-hyped-********-games of the year 2008". xD Nah, nevermind that.Shooshkabob wrote:

SSB Brawl, huh? I bought Wii because of that game.
It is my favourite Wii game of all time. I go nowadays with Sonic in it. Using him requires lots of mindgaming, which is an area I really need to improve as I suck with mindgames. Maybe if I become a good Sonic player, I might be able to utilize my mindgames in Tekken as well....
Re: A Nintendo Thread
Emulators are illegal in that case.
however since almost everyone downloads (Illegal) for the wii and 360

Well, at school, I play some games on emulators... But I don't really do that at home. I have other (and better) games to play.KazuyaFreak wrote:Does any of you guys use Emulators?

Re: A Nintendo Thread
Yeah, I play with emulators. But very rarely.
Gahhhhhh..only 1 person (that I know of) in this forum has Xbox Live..
I so badly want to play Tekken 6 with all of you... Even Soul Calibur 4! Or anything else!
Right now, the only way I can think of playing something online with the rest of you is by playing Wii. I've never tried Wii online... how is it?

It kinda depends on a game, but regardless of the game, if it supports Wi-Fi it'll most likely have Friend Codes. Friend Codes, are like cell phone numbers or something. They're meant to make it possible for people to connect and play with their friends. For example:Shooshkabob wrote:

Person 1: What's your friend code?
Person 2: 0123-3333-7777
Person 1: Alright, I'll add you on [insert a game here]. Here's my friend code: 0000-1111-2222-4445.
The two exchanges the friend codes and add them to their friend lists. Once both their friend codes added, it should be done, I guess. But there really isn't a notifier X360 and PS3 has, so to see if your friends are online, you need to go that certain game, connect to Wi-Fi and check your friend list. So to end, the online play on Wii really varies.
Re: A Nintendo Thread
Oh, cool!
I've been curious to try Super Smash Bros. Brawl online.. I rarely play Wii.
don't have much games for it..

Re: A Nintendo Thread
It's not really that good, to be honest. Best to arrange matches on some chatbox or somewhere....Shooshkabob wrote:

And neither do I. Wii doesn't really have much game that really interest me. SSB Brawl was the reason I bought Wii. Besides Brawl I have Mario Kart Wii(which isn't good) and Mario Power Tennis' New Play Control version(which REALLY convinced me to get the GameCube version ). I used to have Metroid Prime 3 and Sonic and the Secret Rings, but I didn't really cared for them anymore so I took'em to a gaming shop.Shooshkabob wrote:

New Super Mario Bros. Wii would be something....
But I have downloaded plenty of retro games for Wii from Wii Shop Channel. You may check them (and my whole games list) by clicking this.

Yeah, me too. And I've seen the commercials for the new Super Mario Bros. 4 players?! That should be cool! (or maybe sometimes annoying ) But yeah, I'd like to get it! New and improved nostalgia!
Thanks for the advice!
Re: A Nintendo Thread
Well, New Super Mario Bros. Wii isn't really anything "new". Just like the game's title says, it's New Super Mario Bros., but on Wii. I have the original DS version. The Wii version is still pretty much a different game - different levels and bosses and stuff...Shooshkabob wrote:I've seen the commercials for the new Super Mario Bros. 4 players?! The 1-4 player support was something Shigeru Miyamoto had wanted to do for a Mario game for a long time, but it seems that it was about the hardware limitations.
People can cooperate... or compete. Players can bump other players to their doom or help them when in need. Instead of having Toads besides the Mario Bros., Wario and Waluigi could've done just fine in my opinion.
Re: A Nintendo Thread
Huh?kazamafan15 wrote:I must say that 2009 was a failed year for Nintendo.
I don't think Nintendo did that bad this year. They got Wii Motion Plus, a black Wii pack(which looks very bad-a** ) and one of the most well-known franchises got their sequels by Christmas(New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks).
Anything else? Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days made it to DS.
Re: A Nintendo Thread
yeah but I want some more titles not only mario and zelda it gets a little boring after a while? the other's were not that intresting
